BrainsWay Technology

Relief Mental Health uses BrainsWay technology which has been demonstrated to have exceptional efficacy due to its broad and deep prefrontal stimulation. Unlike medication, the benefits of TMS are durable. This means that patients experience lasting remission of symptoms long after treatment has been completed.

TMS has a high success rate for patients with treatment-resistant depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder. Even in cases where medications have not proven effective, TMS can help our patients overcome their symptoms.

TMS does not require…

anesthesia, hospitalization, and has no systemic side effects. During the 20-minute treatment session, patients sit in a comfortable chair and engage with our staff. This extra engagement during treatment helps improve the efficacy of treatment and yield better results compared to other TMS clinics. Patients are awake and alert throughout treatment and typically don’t experience any pain.

Most major insurance providers cover TMS as it is FDA approved and promotes long-term recovery.

Aftercare

We encourage our patients to remain active in their mental health care by seeing a therapist regularly, taking medications as prescribed, and seeking out healthy choices to maintain wellness for an extended period of time.

Many patients will come back for another round of care. Most insurance policies will cover multiple rounds of treatment as long as the patient is able to remain stable for a defined amount of time. This is typically anywhere from 2-6 months. Some patients achieve full remission and do not need to return to treatment at all.

Paying for TMS

While most insurance policies will cover our services, patients are responsible for their copays, deductibles, and non-covered services. Financing is available through advancecarecard.com if payment arrangements are needed.

For patients with less than perfect credit, we also have a financing option through mymedicalfunding.com

What We Treat

BrainsWay Deep TMS is a FDA-approved treatment for individuals with depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxious depression and smoking addiction. TMS has also been proven to provide relief for a variety of off-label conditions. Contact us to see how we can improve your quality of life.

Depression

Relief Mental Health provides a safe, medication-free option for individuals diagnosed with major depressive disorder.

Patients not able to reach their full potential with medication or other forms of treatment may experience life-changing recovery through TMS therapy.

We provide a care continuum to support you before, during, and after your treatment.

OCD

Relief Mental Health is the leading TMS provider for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Our BrainsWay technology is the first and only device that has been tested and achieved FDA approval. Our patient advocates undergo extensive training with experts in the treatment of OCD. Each patient advocate is certified in the administration of the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) and works closely with our clinical director to develop provocations that are designed to increase the efficacy of treatment.

Patients in our OCD program are provided a treatment team consisting of a psychiatrist, a Y-BOCS rater certified patient advocate, and an OCD clinical specialist. Our in-house treatment team will collaborate with your outside providers to deliver the most comprehensive plan and best outcomes. We have a deep understanding of the complexities of OCD.

Anxious Depression

The majority of patients with depression have moderate anxiety, and 20-25 percent have more severe anxiety.

Anxious depression is linked to greater severity of depression symptoms, higher risk of suicide, reduced response rates to treatment, and higher risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. We offer a treatment plan that can treat anxiety in tandem with your depression and on its own.

Smoking & Nicotine Dependence

Relief Mental Health proudly offers BrainsWay Deep TMS for smoking cessation. This is the first FDA clearance in the addiction space and we are one of the first to offer it.

Using BrainsWay’s patented H4-coil, the treatment generates electromagnetic pulses that stimulate neurons in brain structures associated with addiction – specifically the bilateral insula and prefrontal cortex.

Other Indications

Studies show TMS can be an effective treatment for other diagnoses such as addictions, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, post-stroke rehabilitation, bipolar, autism, alzheimer’s/dementia, eating disorders, postpartum depression, and tinnitus. TMS: A New Model for Mental Health Treatment

According to information published by the Harvard University School of Medicine, more than half of people with depression who have not experienced success with traditional treatments experience a “clinically meaningful response” with TMS treatment. About a third experience full remission of depressive symptoms.

In addition, while most antidepressant and anxiolytic medications take time to work and only reduce symptoms while the medication is in the bloodstream, the therapeutic effect of TMS is durable, and persists for several months after treatment. In fact, many patients report the benefits of a course of TMS treatment last for a year or longer.
